Water Tower

Water tower Series: 60 minus 1 is my attempt at familiarizing myself with my surroundings, a self-prescribed exploration of the few memories I have left, considering I was seven when we departed from my hometown. It starts and ends in my flat. It passes through various alleys, places, or landmarks, evoking my childhood and the man I am continuously trying to become. Dan Merry is a photographer/author. In 2017, he won the urban photography competition of the magazine Réponses Photo. Today, he is working on several series he wants to construct, like longitudinal studies, over the long run. His subjects are the city and his buildings as a testimony of human presence, but at the same time, he deals with memory as the currency of identities. He draws his influences from humanists, cinema, poems, and new documentary photographers.
