Contrary to the traditional painting scheme of adding to create a form, Lancelot Blondeel constructs a relief by consolidating material at certain points on the canvas. This particular technique allows the artist to emphasize the gestural element of his practice. In contrast to an almost instantaneous movement, the use of washes in the background softens the outcome and provides an opportunity to refine the texture work.

Lancelot Blondeel est un peintre contemporain né en 1988, vivant et travaillant à Vincennes. S'appuyant sur ses études d’ingénieur, l’artiste étudie dans ses créations abstraites la relation entre l'humain et l’expérience du réel. Son travail se distingue par deux séries principales : la série "No Reason" qui comporte des œuvres aux couleurs vives caractérisées par des mouvements spontanés tracés à la main et la série "Paysages Entrelacés" composée des paysages abstraits formés de bandes horizontales ou verticales.
