With her lake prints Eva-Maria Raab creates photographic relics of the famous Austrian lake Attersee. At night she wets light-sensitive paper with water from the lake and later literally blurs it with photographic images of the lake. The traces of water on the paper are silent witnesses to past moments and at the same time carry the specific location within them. She includes lake water in her cyanotypes, thus preserving this rare and precious resource. In Raab’s artwork everything flows: the water, the landscape – panta rhei. Her photographic experiments capture the soul of nature and its transience in a direct and pure manner.
