Il Turco Assassin - Italian shutterstop figure

La Dama Veneziana, from the times of the Serenissima - Republic of Venice, the shutter stop (also called Ferma Persiane) is an object used to stop the typical Italian wooden shutters, dating back to the 17th century. It exists of two figures: 'The Turkish Asasìn', as painted here, and 'The Venetian Lady', who "appear" or "disappear" depending on whether the shutters are kept closed or open and locked. As I encounter these object during my daily walks, I decided to paint them.
