Double Portrait - Duchamp
This portrait of Marcel Duchamp at the age of 13, just before his work began to be conceived, is part of a series of "Double Portraits".
These two portraits are strictly identical, no deviation, and yet the eye detects or invents differences. Tiny psychological differences
seem to be revealed, a determined look at one, more tender on the other, or the reverse. Marcel and Rose in an infra-thin separation.
The work is presented in an oak frame with passe partout. Edition 1/3 is at the Museum Macval at Ivry-sur-Seine,IDF, France.

Always inquiring on some famous characters that mark our time and linked to specific places, Anne Deguelle works on topics as diverse as litterature, art or religion questionning Beuys, Duchamp and the bottle of Benedictine, Raymond Roussel and his presence in Palermo (first solo show at Galerie Dix9) or Radegund in her chapel in Chinon. She also questioned the rug covering Sigmund Freud's sofa (second solo exhibition at Galerie Dix9), offering a new lecture on the Freudian symbolic universe.
