Swiss artist born in 1988, Romain Mader studied photography at ECAL in Lausanne, he got is master of Arts in Fine arts, ZHDK Zurich (2018). Winner of the Paul Huf award given by the FOAM museum, he was exhibited at Tate Modern in "Performing for the camera" curated by Simon Baker and had a work by him on the front page of the catalogue. He got grants for several residencies in Switzerland, Hong Kong, Paris, China and had several exhibitions in public places in various countries.
Questioning the nature of photography and its relationship with reality, Mader's work explores themes of gender-representation, loneliness and romance by creating fictional narratives within his images.Always with a strong performative aspect.
