Virginie Bergar's artistic journey is defined by resilience, passion, and a commitment to creativity. Although her initial trajectory included an IB Diploma in economics, maths, philosophy, and history, her true calling was art, a realization spurred by a challenging breakup. During this period, she found solace in creative expression while managing chronic illness.
Without formal training, Virginie began her artistic exploration with jewelry making and soon discovered zentangle, becoming a certified teacher in 2020. Her travels, particularly to India, profoundly influenced her artistic outlook, inspiring her to experiment with vibrant colors and unconventional materials such as natural pigments. These experiences enriched her mixed media art, expressed through shared journals and personal gifts.
In 2024, Virginie returned to France, facing health challenges that prompted a shift to a professional art career. This transition was timely, as her third child left for studies in Rotterdam, allowing her to fully focus on her art. Her background as a kindergarten teacher instilled an appreciation for unrestrained creativity, now evident in her work.
Virginie's art uniquely blends abstract elements with expressive female portraits. Drawing inspiration from resilient women, especially in patriarchal societies, her intuitive process begins with sketches, guided by emotion and the interplay of color and texture. To refine her technical skills, she began the art mastery program at Milan Art Institute in September 2024.
