Joanna Błoniarz (b. 1973) studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She runs the Dok Art Gallery on the Polish coast, while her second home is in the Netherlands. All these places are reflected in the artist's works—ranging from metropolitan and industrial landscapes to spaces shaped by nature, primarily the sea. Her artistic explorations focus on human interaction with the environment, drawing analogies between art and everyday life.
"My work is multidisciplinary.
I approach each project as if it were the first. I do not have a predetermined or fixed medium, nor a planned final outcome. I investigate whether an image, as a phenomenon in itself, fits within established boundaries or is merely a frame or fragment. In search of what is both conventional and universal, I freely interpret personal notions of time and space. In every process, it is the image or other subject that guides me.
During my work, I respond dynamically to constantly evolving thoughts. An unfinished image often finds its completion over time."
In addition to visual arts, I am involved in interior scenography.
I create visual transformations of existing spaces, uncovering their personality in harmony with their history, context, and purpose.
