Sugarlandia on my mind est un refrain, un songe, une mélopée presque obsessionnelle. Une ode à l’âme de l'île de Negros. Nul besoin d’arpenter en vérité cette terre. Elle distille des sortilèges comme autant de songes. Elle porte en elle une force poétique intrinsèque née de sa beauté et de la luxuriance. L’imagination, l’image poétique suffisent. Leurs horizons sont plus vastes et plus profonds. Ils s’enracinent dans l’âme comme un refrain, incrustent dans la rétine leur symphonie colorée. S'enfoncer ici dans la forêt, au cœur des mangroves, sous l'eau des cascades et les pentes du volcan.

The artist Mai Khanh PHAM TO

Née Vietnamienne à Paris en 1975, Mai Khanh et sa famille deviennent réfugiés politiques à l'arrivée au pouvoir des communistes au Vietnam. Elle est à peine âgée de six mois quand ils quittent la Métropole pour la Nouvelle-Calédonie sur un bateau.
