« C’est en 2017 que Sophie Bloch a décidé, après une longue période d’un travail extrêmement lumineux et coloré, de se consacrer à l’outremer. Cette unique couleur, le plus chaud de tous les bleus, nous entraîne loin de l’idée même du monochrome : l’outremer, longuement travaillé à l’huile, repris à la brosse ou à la spatule, varie de la nuit la plus profonde, dans les vagues ou tourbillons marins, aux lueurs diurnes des glaces du Grand Nord, ou parfois glisse au bout de la course du pinceau dans des reflets violets irisés de notes pourpres...».
