The artwork

"ORLY (SUD) Vol 09 – L’aérotrain" fait partie de la première série d’œuvres inspirées par l’architecture de l’Aile sud de l’aéroport d’Orly. Elle fait référence à l’échec des "Trente Glorieuses" à travers ses symboles phares. Cette peinture montre l’aérotrain et son concepteur l’ingénieur français Jean Bertin. En dépit des performances époustouflantes et inédites de l’aérotrain, son exploitation commerciale fut rejetée par l’État français au profit du TGV de la SNCF. La ligne Paris-Orléans de l’aérotrain devait à terme desservir l’aéroport d’Orly. L’œuvre rend ici hommage à ce magnifique engin, et à son créateur visionnaire et précurseur.
