NOCOMODO diptych acrylic&oil on canvas 2022
This painting came out of my artworks figuring in a short fictional film of the same name by the director Lola Halifa Legrand.
My artworks were chosen to be those of the character of the mother in her studio, and in the film you can see the beginnings of this diptych. I completed the painting after the end of the filming process and before seeing any of the footage, nor fully knowing the story, but my work and the idea of the film are inextricably linked without being conceived as such.

Raised in Scotland Sarah Knill-Jones studied at the Glasgow School of Art and obtained her Master in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London. Her practice incorporates drawing, video, performance and collaborative experiments, but the core remains centred in, on and around paint, as a visceral, human response to the world we live in.
