The artwork

A l’origine de cette nouvelle série de peintures, la rencontre entre l’usine de caoutchouc du père de l'artiste, et les civilisations précolombiennes qui ont découvert cette matière première sacrée, considérée comme le "sang du monde". Pour donner à voir cette nouvelle mythologie qui entrelace les temps et les lieux, elle change de support et de technique, utilisant le noir de carbone et le bleu maya sur des toiles enduites de caoutchouc, interrogeant le sujet jusqu'à en faire l'objet. Cette grande pièce représente le Monstre de la terre, une porte en pierre qui devait symboliser le passage vers l'au-delà pour les Olmèques du Mexique.
