Les céramiques de Monika Debus mèlent l’abstraction et la peinture. Leur force principale réside dans un vocabulaire universel. Des combinaisons de formes simples, peintes spontanément avec des signes élémentaires, évoquent une multitude d’associations en tant qu’entités individuelles. Une finition satinée, conséquence d’une cuisson particulière du grès dans un four à sel, donne à la surface des céramiques une profondeur subtile qui les singularise. Ses sculptures sont de véritables métaphores du mouvement des corps et nous dévoilent un univers unique et intime.
