Throughout her life, Aude Herlédan has been inspired by her experiences traveling the world and exploring nature. This deep reverence for landscape and the material world is evident in the visceral evocation of natural elements throughout her body of work. Often sourced from the earth, Herlédan’s choice of media visually translates the profound experiences she has partaken in throughout her travels. Herlédan delicately coaxes out the fullest expression of each material by contrasting them on her canvases.

Aude Herlédan est née en 1966 à Paris. Après avoir passé son enfance à Kinshasa au Congo et son adolescence à Paris, elle poursuit ses études à Londres. C’est alors une rencontre décisive dans la vie de Aude Herlédan qui l’incite à suivre des études d’arts appliqués, celle de Samuel-Francis Clapp, collectionneur américain, qui partagea avec elle sa passion pour les arts. Elle entre à l’École Estienne à Paris (École Nationale des Arts Graphiques), dont elle est diplômée en 1989. Cette même année, Aude Herlédan est aussi lauréate du concours de la Parsons School à New York.
