I am Mathilde Bismuth, a contemporary artist, navigating through various forms of art with a self-taught artistic journey. My preferred medium is acrylic and inks, allowing me to capture the fluidity of the moment and express the full potential that a canvas can embody.

I come from the southwest of France, amidst the sea, land, and vineyards, my initial steps into the realm of art were characterized by personal exploration. Departing from conventional paths, I began nurturing my passion for antique aesthetics and medieval art during my History studies in Bordeaux. Simultaneously, my curiosity led me to delve into the realm of wine, from viticulture to sommelier expertise, broadening my horizons to the culinary arts. For me, wine represents the pure expression of an art form that awakens other senses.

In 2013, at 23, I decided to embark on a journey to explore the world beyond my borders. Settling in the Dominican Republic, I experienced enriching moments in Santo Domingo and the Ocoa Bay, where a local wine project blossomed. Immersed in this new environment, my conviction that wine is an art form capable of elevating terroir was strengthened, inspiring my own artistic approach.

Back in France, initially through Saint Tropez and then in Paris, and after a few years in the wine industry, I shifted towards marketing and communication, serving French businesses.

In 2022, marked by a diagnosis of autoimmune disease and experiencing burnout, I found solace in painting. This challenging period added a new dimension to my artistic practice, prompting me to express unspeakable emotions on canvas.

In 2024, after a trip to Japan, my art lab "Casa Mizu" came to life.
